BATTLE OF THE SEXES

Well the venue was not the Astrodome in Houston Texas but Donnybrook lawn Tennis Club and the date was not September 20th 1973 but Thursday 20th November and neither Bobby Riggs or Billie Jean King, were to be seen.

Instead we had a great showing of players both Male and Female of all abilities and of all ages who turned up for the inaugural "Battle of the Sexes" competition.

However unlike the Bobby Riggs and Billie Jean King battle back in 1973 the Donnybrook men took the inaugural trophy by a convincing margin (or so thay say!!!).

The trophy is behind the bar on full view.

Needless to , the ladies are looking forward to the re-match.
