THE IRISH CLOSE CHAMPIONSHIP

Since 1978, Donnybrook has hosted the Irish Close, an event which, for many years, has been the premier tournament for Irish players.
We were delighted to have the Irish Close returned to Donnybrook, in 2007, after an absence of one year. Many thanks to our sponsors, who help make this possible!!

We have had a very strong entry of top players in Ireland including James McGee, Conor Taylor, Colin O'Brien and Eoin Heavey in the Men's draws and Mariyana Levova,
Anne-Marie Hogan and Leigh Walsh in the Ladies', the highlight being two very exciting three set finals.

The Mixed Class 4 & Below, the Ladies Class 4 & Below as well as the Men's Combined Ages 80 were the most popular events with full draws in each.

There was a total of 165 entries for the Irish Close, a substantial increase on the 2005 event.
